Thesis Statement:
In 1960 Ruby Bridges was one of the first African American children to attend an all white school after the Brown vs. Board of Education court case ruled unanimously that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. Ruby Bridges was a brave six year old who became a leader in the Civil Rights Movement, inspiring other African Americans to take a stand. At such a young age she left a legacy of courage for other African Americans to fight for their rights for racial equality in education.
